Veteran Pen Pals

Read Letters from Veterans

Don’t Just Make a Difference. Make a Friend.

Our nation’s veterans humbly appreciate Heal Vets’ arts and crafts, made possible by our generous donors. When you make a donation, you may even hear back from the veterans whose lives you improve.

We encourage our donors to return the correspondence. Over the years, countless veterans and donors have become pen pals; many resulting in lifelong friendships.

Pen pal relationships often form when a donor receives a thank-you postcard from a veteran who was given a therapeutic arts & crafts kit in their name. Heal Vets has been told time and again how appreciative both donors and veterans are for giving them this wonderfully personalized line of communication.

“As a long term disabled and homebound veteran, I want to thank all of you for what you are doing for us. I truly look forward to each kit I receive and I especially want to thank you for sending me parts of a kit that I was missing. I truly enjoy the communication, at times, with the donors. I do have long term pen-pals and many donors send Christmas cards. This veteran truly appreciates your hard work. Thank you all and Happy Holidays. Bless you all!”
